Harry L. Jones Sr. Golf Course is conveniently located off I-77, just minutes from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The course offers 6,978yards of Bermuda greens, a 3-hole Par 3 course, and a large driving range for practice. The land was once a landfill, but in 1987 it was redesigned into a golf course by Kidwell & Hurdzan Inc., a firm recognized for environmentally responsible projects. Originally named Renaissance Golf Course, it was renamed in 2017 to honor Harry L. Jones Sr., Mecklenburg County’s first African American County Manager and recipient of the Order of the Hornet, the county’s highest award. Today, the course provides an accessible, affordable golf option for locals, travelers, and players of all skill levels.
