Tournament Round @ Blue Mash Golf Course
Voted the Best Golf Course in Montgomery County by the Montgomery Gazette readers and listed as one of the Top Ten Rated Courses in the Washington Area by Golf Advisor. Recently ranked #8 by GolfPass for public courses in Maryland. Designed by world-renowned architect Arthur Hills, Blue Mash features a mix of links-style, parkland, wooded, and water holes. There are no forced carries, so it is manageable for beginners and high handicap golfers alike, though low handicap players will find the course’s length, strategic bunker placement, and devilishly well-protected greens offer plenty of challenge. The practice facility at Blue Mash features a 9,000 square foot putting green, grass tee driving range and short game practice area, all supported by world-class instructors. Blue Mash Golf Course gets its name from the property’s original name “Blue Marsh,” referring to the blue clay of the marshy, thickly wooded land. Colloquially pronounced “Blue Mash,” the land was inhabited by freed slaves and made a stop on the Underground Railroad, harboring runaway slaves fleeing north to freedom; the stars and stripes of the Blue Mash logo pay homage to this unique history.
